A Little of Everything
Well, Sever and Moser have been gone for a week now. They made it to Ketchikan on Thursday night, after a long road trip through Canada. Moser doesn't appear to be home sick, he loves being outdoors! I on the other hand have been trying to keep busy, it has been really hard for me to be away from Sever and Moser.
Last week I took both of my classes to the Oregon Zoo, oh what fun! On Thursday my morning class went and then on Friday my afternoon class went, yes I went to the zoo two days in a row, jealous? All went well, we could have done without the rain, but that made for a nice adventure! It is so much fun to be at the zoo with little kids, they think everything is so amazing. I am still waiting to hear about my job for next year, the state budget comes out on May 15th, we will know more after Friday we've been told. I am so lucky to have an amazing job and would be so sad if I had to lose it. It has been great to work at the school that I myself went to with the principal that I myself had...everyone gets a kick out of that.
Wedding update...Sever and I worked really hard to find a venue before he left, see previous post for those pictures. We have decided on The Sandtrap in Gearhart, it will be so much fun to have a coastal wedding. I am driving down there this weekend to finalize everything, can't wait. Tentatively save the date: July 24th, 2010!

Let the Planning Begin!
Well, we haven't wasted much time after getting engaged, we are currently knee deep in wedding plans. Sever and I spent all of yesterday and today looking at wedding venues. Here are some pictures of the places we looked at.
McMenamins Edgefield, Troutdale

Abernethy Center, Oregon City

The Loft, Astoria
McMenamins Sandtrap, Gearhart

The Surfsand Resort, Cannon Beach

What a couple of days we've had. Sever leaves on Monday for Alaska. He will be spending the next five months or so up there working. I will visit him in July, until then I must find things to keep me busy.

Spring Break Road Trip 2009!!!
On the road again...

Sever and I decided to go on a short road trip down to California for Spring Break. We left on Tuesday and drove to Monterey in 12 hours. We spent the night in Monterey and went to the aquarium the next day before heading to Carmel. Despite all the field trips that were going on we had a great time at the aquarium...it puts the Newport aquarium to shame. Next we drove down to Carmel (Holly's favorite) to take Moser to the dog beach. It was such a beautiful place, we felt a little out of place with all the fancy stores and automobiles... Clint Eastwood was once the mayor of Carmel (need I explain more). But I mean what town isn't great with a Coach store and Tiffany & Co. We hung out in Carmel for the day and then headed out to Carmel Valley where we had arranged a place to stay (with one of Holly's student's grandparents :) )! We had so much fun hanging out on a mini vineyard and letting Moser swim in the pool. We went out to a great dinner with our host and hostess where we got to sample some great wine. The worst part about staying with people we didn't know was that they were Duck fans, otherwise we got along great! After having a wonderful time in Carmel Valley we made the drive up to San Francisco. Wow, what a busy place. Once we found the hotel and parked the truck, we refused to drive anymore. We took Moser for a walk down at Golden Gate park, which is right under the bridge. Everyone in San Francisco is always running or walking... it was a busy place. After we wore the dog out, Sever and I headed down to the Fisherman's Wharf for dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe. The food was not so great, my chicken was still raw...but we felt like we couldn't not go to the Hard Rock Cafe. On Friday we woke up early and made the long drive home, only 11 hours this time due to our short (long) cut through Sonoma and Napa. We had a great trip and are really not looking forward to heading back to work on Monday.
Happy Spring everyone!

New Material Needed!
Wow, I just realized that this should be the MOSER blog. Haha, or I need to get some new material. We are going on a Spring Break road trip....I will be sure to blog about it when we get back. Happy March!
Food for Thought
This is a picture of our worst nightmare, lately...yes it is dog food! Moser has been having some serious food allergies and has been refusing to eat. We have had him on 5 different dog foods over the course of 10 months, all of which he had a reaction to, ear infections, chewing the fur out of his tail, refusing to eat, problems going to the bathroom. Labs love to eat everything, so when Moser stopped eating his food we thought something had to be wrong and called the vet. After many expensive vet bills, x-rays, and food changes Moser was still not eating. Then we left Moser with my family while we were in Hawaii, the poor thing had some anxiety issues while we are going and still doesn't like us to leave him. Everytime we put him in his kennel we have to say "Moser, we gotta go to work." This way he knows that we will be coming back for him. He has gotten better, there was one night that Sever was gone and Moser barked all night long...ugh! His anxiety did not help his eating situation. Here is Moser at 6 weeks, eating away!
However, I am happy to report that finally our vet has decided to put Moser on an allergen free diet...talk about the most expensive dog food you have ever seen. It must taste good because Moser has been eating it for a week now :)
Oh how we miss these days, he was such a cute puppy!
