A beary big BEAR!

I turned around and looked out the kitchen window and look what I saw... a huge bear! He was just sitting there eating berries. As soon as I went out to take his picture he turned around and looked at us, and then ultimately walked off.

It doesn't get more Alaskan than this...

Halibut # 1

Humpback Whale, we saw many!

Finally! Holly caught one!

...and another one!

Whale tail

As you can see we had a great time yesterday out on the boat. It was sunny and beautiful! We were surrounded by whales all day, it was amazing. We even saw one jump all the way out of the water, of course the camera was not ready. So cool! Not to mention our yummy halibut dinner that followed!

Well we headed out the road to do some dog training... Moser is very excited about everything that has to do with ducks and birds! It should be a great hunting season this year!

Road Trip to ALASKA

Day 0: Telephone Call

Sever calls me Thursday morning... "I just bought a plane ticket. I get into Seattle tomorrow at noon. Please pick me up at the airport and then we will drive north to Alaska..."

...

Day 1: La Conner or Bust

The Snow Goose, down the road from Sever's grandparents which is an hour or so north of Seattle. Sever ALWAYS brags about the amazing ice cream at the Snow Goose. Conveniently when we visit, generally in the winter months, the Snow Goose is not open. I got to experience the heavenly ice cream this time however!

Sever's huge SINGLE scoop of ice cream!

...

Day 2: North to Alaska

We started to notice a lot of haze once we crossed the border into Canada, apparently there are a lot of wild fires in BC. Holly drove through the worst of them, it was like driving in the fog, stinky stinky smoke fog!

The worlds largest fly rod!

Moose Xing

...

Day 3: Almost there...

The Skeena River

Cow Bay, Prince Rupert Canada

Finally, after our 18 hour drive from Sever's grandparents house we are on the ferry to Ketchikan!

Mr. and Mrs. Sever and Holly Paulson

July 31, 2010

We had so much fun at our wedding. A special thanks to everyone that was there. We have over 2,000 pictures from our personal cameras... We also have professional pictures that we will be sure to post when we get organized. If you have any great pictures we would love to see them :)

After the wedding Sever and I headed to East Lake for a little honeymoon camping trip! We will be honeymooning in Maui in December, but wanted to get away before then. We had a great time and can't wait to go back with our friends. We soaked up the sun, paddled around (Sever mainly), enjoyed the simplicity of nature and the comfort of being away from technology!
Enjoy the pictures!

Moser, our water dog! He had so much fun he slept for 3 days once we got home!

Now that we are married, I decided to try and share the rowing duties... despite hours in the gym, I still can't handle rowing the boat for very long! Sorry Sever, it is all you for now!

And we made it home safe after driving in an extreme fire activity area! Lots of haze but other than that not much excitement out of Sisters.
