Sever and I decided to go on a short road trip down to California for Spring Break. We left on Tuesday and drove to Monterey in 12 hours. We spent the night in Monterey and went to the aquarium the next day before heading to Carmel. Despite all the field trips that were going on we had a great time at the aquarium...it puts the Newport aquarium to shame. Next we drove down to Carmel (Holly's favorite) to take Moser to the dog beach. It was such a beautiful place, we felt a little out of place with all the fancy stores and automobiles... Clint Eastwood was once the mayor of Carmel (need I explain more). But I mean what town isn't great with a Coach store and Tiffany & Co. We hung out in Carmel for the day and then headed out to Carmel Valley where we had arranged a place to stay (with one of Holly's student's grandparents :) )! We had so much fun hanging out on a mini vineyard and letting Moser swim in the pool. We went out to a great dinner with our host and hostess where we got to sample some great wine. The worst part about staying with people we didn't know was that they were Duck fans, otherwise we got along great! After having a wonderful time in Carmel Valley we made the drive up to San Francisco. Wow, what a busy place. Once we found the hotel and parked the truck, we refused to drive anymore. We took Moser for a walk down at Golden Gate park, which is right under the bridge. Everyone in San Francisco is always running or walking... it was a busy place. After we wore the dog out, Sever and I headed down to the Fisherman's Wharf for dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe. The food was not so great, my chicken was still raw...but we felt like we couldn't not go to the Hard Rock Cafe. On Friday we woke up early and made the long drive home, only 11 hours this time due to our short (long) cut through Sonoma and Napa. We had a great trip and are really not looking forward to heading back to work on Monday.
Happy Spring everyone!
